Modern Mid-Century Retreat

Discovering their ideal property along the edge of Medina Golf Course, these homeowners built their dream house in 2021.

Reminiscence of the mid-century modern clean lines the home’s architecture requires that reflection in the landscape. With protected views to the golf courses, the homeowners wanted to maximize those opportunities.

The designer was tasked with incorporating the elements of an active family life. The Master Plan that was implemented includes a large entertainment patio with a BBQ kitchen, a fire pit adjacent to the golf course, a large level play lawn, and a sport court tucked into the side yard.

Retaining some original trees, the garden features simple, clean combinations of low-maintenance plants. The heights of the plants were carefully considered within the view corridors of the golf course. Finally, as with many suburban properties, the designer provided strategically planted evergreen privacy screens for the adjacent homes.
